Terms of Service

1.Acceptance of terms

Welcome to Mr.Wang Chinese ("we", "us", "the Service"), a small set of Chinese character learning tools — worksheet generator, stroke demo, Hanzi Builder, and character decomposer — available at mwchinese.online.

By creating an account, signing in, or using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are using the Service on behalf of a classroom or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2.The service

Mr.Wang Chinese provides browser-based tools to help learners and teachers practice Chinese characters. The Service includes free features (with daily usage limits) and paid passes that unlock higher limits and remove watermarks on exports.

We may add, remove, or change features at any time. Where a change materially reduces functionality you have already paid for, we will give reasonable notice and, where appropriate, offer a pro-rated refund.

The Service is provided over the public internet. We rely on third-party infrastructure (Supabase for authentication and storage, Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting, jsDelivr for static assets). Their availability is outside our direct control.

3.Your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly at support@mwchinese.online if you suspect unauthorized access.

One account per natural person. Sharing a single account across multiple paying users — for instance to bypass usage limits or to extend a pass beyond its intended audience — is not permitted.

You can sign out at any time, and you can delete your account by emailing us. We will erase your personal data within 30 days, except where law requires us to retain records (for example, paid-invoice records).

4.Passes & pricing

Mr.Wang Chinese uses a one-time-payment pass model. There are no recurring subscriptions and nothing renews automatically. The currently offered plans are:

• Basic — free to use; 7 days of unlimited access on sign-up, then a limited daily quota with watermark on prints.
• 1-Month Pass — $5, valid for 30 days from purchase.
• 3-Month Pass — $12, valid for 90 days from purchase.
• 6-Month Pass — $22, valid for 180 days from purchase.
• 1-Year Pass — $39, valid for 365 days from purchase.
• Lifetime — $69, no expiration date, tied to your account.

All prices are in U.S. dollars and are charged once at purchase. We do not store your full card details — payments are processed by Stripe under their own terms and PCI-compliant infrastructure.

Passes activate immediately on successful payment and expire at the end of their validity window. They do not stack: purchasing a new pass while one is active will simply extend the expiration of the higher-tier or longer pass — whichever gives you more value. The Lifetime pass, once activated, supersedes any time-bounded pass.

"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the Service. If we shut down the Service entirely, the pass cannot extend beyond that point. See section 9.

5.Refund policy

We want you to feel confident when purchasing a paid pass.

We offer a 7-day refund period for paid passes with light usage.

You may request a full refund within 7 days of purchase if your account has only had limited use. As a guide, this means fewer than 10 core actions — such as generating, downloading, or printing worksheets, using the character builder, watching writing animations, or opening character decomposition tools.

Refunds may be reduced or refused if your account has been used heavily. Heavy usage may include, but is not limited to:

• generating, downloading, or printing a large number of worksheets;
• completing many characters in the Hanzi Builder;
• using the writing animation or decomposition tools many times;
• using the service in a way that suggests bulk downloading, copying, or abuse.

As a guide, more than 30 core actions during the refund period may be considered heavy usage.

After 7 days, refunds are generally not provided unless there is a technical issue caused by our service that prevents you from using your paid pass.

Free-tier limits, expired passes, and change-of-mind requests after the refund period are not refundable.

By purchasing, you agree to immediate access to this digital service. You understand that once you start generating, downloading, printing, or using digital learning tools, your refund rights may be limited, except where required by applicable law.

This policy does not limit any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer laws.

To request a refund, please email support@mwchinese.online from the email address linked to your account and include your order ID. We aim to respond within 2 business days and process approved refunds within 7 business days.

6.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to do anything unlawful, or to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
• Attempt to break, probe, or stress-test the Service or its infrastructure beyond ordinary use, or attempt to reverse-engineer paid features.
• Scrape, replicate, or redistribute the worksheet outputs, builder dictionary, or stroke data at scale, in a way that competes with or undermines the Service.
• Resell access to the Service, or share a paid account with people who are not part of your household or single classroom.
• Bypass usage limits via scripting, multiple anonymous accounts, or technical workarounds.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice depending on severity. In serious cases (for example, ongoing automated abuse) we may share necessary information with our infrastructure providers.

7.Intellectual property

The Service — including the site design, original artwork, the worksheet generator, the builder UI, the kaishu stroke icons (© 2026 WANGYI), and the site copy — is the property of WANGYI and licensed to you for personal and classroom use only.

Worksheets and exports that you generate are yours to use — you may print, photocopy, and distribute them in your own classroom. You may not resell exports as standalone commercial products.

Some underlying data and libraries are open source and used under their own licenses. See Credits for full attribution. Notably, stroke geometry data is derived from Arphic Public License (1999) fonts via the Make Me A Hanzi project.

8.Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do our best to keep stroke order, pinyin, and character data accurate, but we cannot guarantee it is free of errors. Please verify against an authoritative source before relying on it for high-stakes use (e.g., publishing, exams).

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

9.Changes to these terms & contact

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for changes that affect paid users, notify you by email or via an in-app notice.

If we shut down the Service permanently, we will give at least 60 days notice to active paid users and offer a pro-rated refund of unused pass time. Lifetime passes will receive a goodwill refund based on time elapsed since purchase.
